Finding what works...for free

The goal:  To make my own funny/overpowered MTG cards to post online and play around with in casual games. (if your hoping to make counterfeit cards your on the WRONG PAGE....go away)

Attempt #1: Scoured the internet for something to do the image editing for me.
Result:  found interesting, but not too useful sites.

I then realized that I needed to look for "freeware" so........

Attempt #2: Focused on finding software (free if possible)
FOUND: "Magic Set Editor"   (its free, its awesome, its really easy to use, give it a try)

So I made some OP cards

And some funny cards: (note: stupid humor below)

Note: the pic is of a cactus
Political much?

I'm a horrible person.....
So after exporting the card images I wanted to sleeve up, I realized the pics were the wrong size to simply print onto sticker paper and stick onto an extra basic land for that "real card" feel.

Sooooo......I tried EVERYTHING to re-size the images for free.  Needless to say, I wasted lots of time, paper, and ink.

Then once again I decided to look for free software online.
(cause I'm lazy AND cheap)

After a bit of looking I found "Gimp"  (Its free, awesome, est...)
After looking online for tutorials I re-sized the cards I wanted, printed them out, and had a good time messing with my friends.

Its a brief intro, but I hope you enjoyed it.

  1. Another option I found for easy resizing is Microsoft PowerPoint. Just paste the images in from MSE and using the image formatting tool, just set each one to 3.5"x2.5". You can fit up to 8 cards per page using this method.
